Beyonce leads Grammys pretelecast show

Beyonce won 4 Grammys during the pre-telecast awards ceremony of this year’s Grammy Awards. Beyonce won Best R&B Song and Best R&B Female Vocal Performance for “Single Ladies”, Best Contemporary R&B Album for “I Am… Sasha Fierce”, and Best R&B Traditional Vocal Performance for “At Last”, which she did for her movie “Cadillac Records’

Black Eyed Peas trails behind Beyonce with three awards that include Best Pop Vocal Album for “The E.N.D.”

Taylor Swift is not far behind having won two awards during the pre-ceremony – Best Female Country Vocal Performance and Best Country Song (shared with co-songwriter Liz Rose) for  “White Horse”. Swift was all too excited when she accepted the awards exclaiming these were her first Grammys.

Lady Gaga, Eminem, Maxwell, and Kings of Leon have already won two awards each during the pre-show.

Beyonce’s “I Am… Sasha Fierce”, Swift’s “Fearless”, Black Eyed Peas’ “The E.N.D.”, Lady Gaga’s “The Fame”, and Dave Matthews Band’s “Big Whiskey and the Groogrux King” are all up against each other for the Album of the Year award.

Beyonce has won several Grammy awards through the years, but has never won the most coveted Album of the Year trophy yet. Her latest album could give her that opportunity; however, Swift’s album is a strong contender having been the best selling album of 2009.

As of this writing, the Grammy Award ceremony proper is still ongoing.
