Tiger Woods to appear on TV for public comment

Embattled golfer Tiger Woods will finally make a public comment on Friday – the first since the Thanksgiving car crash incident in November after which a sex scandal soon ensued.

Woods is set to speak in front of select journalists with only one camera from the headquarters of the US PGA Tour  in Florida on Friday at 11 am Eastern time.

Even with just one camera inside the room where the statement will be held, networks in the US will be broadcasting it live including sports cable channels.

Woods will deliver a devised statement and the journalists present will not be allowed to ask any questions. Mark Steinberg, Wood’s agent, emphasizes that this will not be a press conference.

There have been much speculations going around as to what Woods will say. Some are hopeful that the golfer will announce that he is coming back to the sport.

There is so much speculation that one bookmaker in England released odds on the outcome of the event – from whether or not Woods’ wife Elin will be with him or if the couple are divorcing to whether Elin is pregnant or not.

Latest photographs of Woods showed signs that he is going through all too well right now with him jogging in Florida on Wednesday and hitting golf balls near his home on Thursday.

A vague shot of a person said to be Woods in a hood was released by the National Enquirer on January 21. The photo was taken outside a sex rehab facility in Mississippi.

The fall of Woods started on the night of November 26 when his car mysteriously crashed on a tree near his home in Windermere, Florida. Authorities then rushed to the scene after a stranger’s frantic 911 call but were denied further access to Woods, his wife and their home even days after.

Media speculations then spread around about rumored mistresses that might have caused the argument between Woods and his wife Elin Nordegren just before the crash.

A parade of women went out claiming that they at least once have had sexual relationship with the golfer. The main focus, however, was on Rachel Uchitel, a nightclub manager from New York who denied the affair.

Woods released a statement on December 11 taking responsibility for his infidelity and announcing a temporary hiatus from golf.
