Brittany Murphy has been finally laid to rest. A small private funeral was held in Forest Lawns Memorial Park on Thursday, December 24.

Murphy died suddenly on December 20. Preliminary reports indicated she died after suffering a cardiac arrest. Her mother apparently found her lying on the bathroom floor. Paramedics were then called and she was immediately rushed to the hospital, but she was pronounced dead on arrival. She is survived by her husband, Simon Mojack, a British writer, producer and director, and her mother, Sharon Murphy. Her passing came as a shocking news to the people of Hollywood. She was just 32 years old at the time of her death.

Murphy gained fame in the movie Clueless playing a teenage ugly duckling. She also starred in Girl, Interrupted alongside Winona Ryder and Angelina Jolie. She had a string of popular movies under her name like 8 Mile and Uptown Girls. Over the last years, she also starred in many independent films.

The ceremony held in Forest Lawns was very solemn and it was only attended by close family and friends.
