A website dedicated to all things about the game Halo has opened up the virtual door to Xbox Live.

An initial wave of exclusive content related to the new Halo Waypoint will come out Saturday, as site managers are planning to release complete episode previews for the anime series called Halo Legends.

Waypoint features content on a daily basis, including updates, interviews with developers, community activities and trailers.

Waypoint extends the universe of Halo. It’s a place where the every kind of Halo fan can do exploration, in wider and deeper ways, through the community and the fiction that binds them all together.

Waypoint will also be utilizing something referred to as a career tracker, which will chart each player’s progress through all of the games in the universe of Halo. The players will also receive specially designed Avatars, awarded after completion of particular accomplishments in the games. One example is for players who download a city map in Halo 3 to use in a VISR. They will get a t-shirt free with the avatar. Players that already have accomplished these awards will earn other rewards when they join the Waypoint portal.
