Final Fantasy I and II can now be played on iPod Touch and iPhone

Final Fantasy has long been a hit among video gamers since the 1980s and it is now taking new platforms. Through the efforts of the game’s publisher, Square Enix, Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy II can now be played on the iPod Touch and iPhone.

The first two instalments of the Final Fantasy series provide long hours of game play and hard action combats that are set in fantasy-inspired settings with well-laced stories and interesting characters. With the new versions for the iPhone, graphics, sounds and icons are further enhanced.

A press release from Square Enix say that the features of the games are customized and “optimized” to match the iPod Touch and iPhone platforms.

The games will also showcase new dungeons which were not present in the original versions released in 1987 and 1988. Players would be able to get into these locations after finishing the adventure mode.

The games are now available on the Apple Store for $9 each.
