Elvis Presley, King of Rock and Roll, was born in Tupelo, Mississippi. When he died, he was laid to rest in his Graceland mansion in Memphis, Tennessee. Right between those two locations stands Graceland Too, a house-turned-museum solely dedicated to the King.
Paul Macleod, 64, calls this museum located in the town of Holly Springs, Mississippi, his home. Ever since Elvis rose to stardom in the 1950s, Macleod has been obsessed with him. He even jokes that he left his wife for Elvis. The former auto worker has collected since then piles of items related to the King. From the doorstep and into the house’s interior, Elvis figurines, candy wrappers, curtains, loads of photos, and many others are just about everywhere.
Graceland Too has become Holly Springs’ number one tourist attraction. The local tourism officer said they would get calls everyday inquiring about the museum. Macleod does not have a phone so the tourism people just take him notes for upcoming visits.
For just $5, a visitor will have access to tons of Elvis stuffs. Graceland Too does not have operating hours as anyone could get in anytime of the day and Macleod works alone. He is a self-described caffeine-driven individual. He claims he drinks an average of 24 cans of Coke a day. Visitors say that Macleod just keeps on repeating the same information in every visit.
